Crisp fall leaves, warm jackets, bonfires, s'mores. All the things we love about fall. And those things aren't just fun, but just like most of life, if you look close enough, you can find a lesson.
What's the lesson in a bonfire? Click here to read my story on the home page of this month's Devo Kids website. The story, Fan the Flame, is written for kids, but the lesson is for everyone who wants to know what to do with the gifts they've been given.
Check it out and remember the lesson the next time you enjoy a gooey s'more or sit in the glowing beauty of a fall bonfire.

This blog is about my crazy, ordinary life as a farm wife, sleep-deprived mom, stumbling Christ-follower,and average American woman in the carpool phase of life. This is my attempt of making sense of the lessons God teaches me every blessed day. I'll also talk about personality-which comes in handy when you try to figure out the "characters" (both actual and created) in your life. So...grab your latte to go, buckle your seatbelt, and pull your mini-van in line behind mine!
beautiful story and lesson, Nikki! Such a good reminder for me to fan into flame the gifts God has given me. I hope I can teach my children that as well.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you!

Melanie,
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you already are. I so love the gift of words God has given you and the wonderful way you point others back to Him through your poetry and prose.
Hope you're getting some rest and making some memories these days.
